The elderly or disabled are at very high risk of development of pressure damage, particularly as they often cannot reposition themselves when their physical condition becomes limited. The Parafricta range of products comprise unique properties that provide significant benefits in protection of skin integrity, avoidance of friction and shear, retention of wound dressings, quality of sleep and patient comfort.

Designed specifically to reduce friction and shear, Parafricta is indicated for:

• Use on feet with pressure ulcers or any skin breakdown
• Use on feet that are enlarged due to swelling or bandages
• Individuals who are immobile in bed and require assistance with dressing
• Amputees
• Patients with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), Motor Neurone Disease or Parkinson’s Disease
• Patients with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB)

Just released is the new Parafricta® NICU Baby Nest and the Parafricta® NICU Baby Sheet to protect skin of pre-term Neonates. These two new products are constructed using the unique low-friction properties of Parafricta® fabric, which is placed so as to be in contact with the skin. This protects the vulnerable, thin-layered skin of the neonate from breakdown.
